Gina E. Wood

Gina E. Wood is the Director of Foundation and Institutional Giving at the Atlantic Council, where she is responsible for the creation and implementation of a comprehensive institutional giving plan to include strengthening relationships with foundations and identifying new partnerships both in the United States and abroad. In this role, she supports the Council’s multiple centers and programs, in addition to the Council leadership at large.

Before joining the Atlantic Council, Wood was Senior Director of Program Development at the Bipartisan Policy Center (BPC), where she strategically garnered funding to support five program areas–each with a portfolio of three to four major projects.

Prior to joining BPC, Wood was Director of Policy and Planning at the Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies. There, she led the planning and launched two institutes and directed a national initiative focused on climate change. She also served as Interim Director of the Health Policy Institute, and in the Cabinet of former South Carolina Governor Jim Hodges, and in the legislative and executive branches of Oregon state government.

Wood is an adviser to The Memorial Foundation, builders of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial. She is also a Trustee of The National Crittenton Foundation, founded in 1883 with a social justice mission to advance the self-empowerment, health, economic security, and civic engagement of girls and young women impacted by trauma and violence. Wood received her BA in communications from the University of Missouri.
