Day 1:  Tax Reform 

Today, the House Ways & Means Committee will begin debate of H.R. 1, the “Tax Cuts and Job Act.” Committee Chair Kevin Brady (R-TX) expects the mark-up to last until Thursday, and go well into the evening hours each day. The four-day mark-up will conclude with a Committee vote to approve the legislation, setting up a vote by the full House membership. House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) expects to hold the vote before the Thanksgiving holiday.  

Hearings

Today @ 12 p.m.: House Ways & Means Committee hearing - "Mark-up of H.R. 1, the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.”  1100 Longworth House Office Building.  

Tomorrow @ 10 a.m.: House Small Business Subcommittee on Agriculture, Energy & Trade hearing - “Investing in Small Businesses: The SBIC Program.”  2360 Rayburn House Office Building.  

Wednesday, November 8 @ 11 a.m.: House Small Business Committee hearing - “Hiring More Heroes: A Review of SBA’s Office of Veterans Business Development.”  2360 Rayburn House Office Building.
