Today in Washington will resume when the Senate returns from recess.
Appropriations Watch – The Senate passed a "minibus" appropriations bill that contains Interior-Environment, Transportation-HUD, Financial Services and Agriculture-FDA FY19 funding measures by a vote of 92-6. The bill will now go to conference to resolve the differences between the House and Senate versions.
NDAA Watch – The Senate voted 87-10 to pass the FY19 National Defense Authorization Act. The bill now goes to the President’s desk for his signature.
Recess – The House is adjourned for recess until September 5. The Senate is in recess for the remainder of this week and next week and will return on August 15.

The Senate is in session today. The House will return tomorrow. President George H.W. Bush lies in state in the U.S. Capitol Rotunda through Wednesday.
