Third Tax 2.0 Bill to be Voted on Today by the House— The House will vote today on the last of its three-bill tax 2.0 package. Today’s vote will be on legislation to make the individual and small business tax cuts enacted in 2017 permanent. The chamber passed the first two measures yesterday — one focused on retirement savings, the other aimed at spurring innovation. The Senate is unlikely to consider the bills until after the November elections. The retirement measure is seen as having the best chance of reaching the president’s desk.

SBA Inspector General Publishes Report on High Risk 7(a) Loan Review Program—The Small Business Administration’s Office of Inspector General published its results of the ongoing High Risk 7(a) Loan Review Program from December 2017 through September 2018, as well as a summary of their work for FY2014-2018. The report can be found here.

Hearing on Local Impact of Economic Growth for Small Businesses— Yesterday, the House Small Business Committee Subcommittee on Economic Growth, Tax and Capital Access held a hearing that focused on the local impact of economic growth.
