The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) announced the launch of two new online tools to help more small businesses participate in the overall process for federal contracts. The first tool is a supplier-based dashboard that will help federal agencies track the total number of companies in their supply chain and the total number within a specific sector. The second application will be a procurement equity tool that will allow contracting officers and acquisition workers to better identify and connect with potential new entrants in specific geographical regions of the country. The two new tools are part of the Biden Administration’s broader efforts to address small business challenges, including growing the equity and diversity of the supplier base of federal contractors.
