AEO and NMSDC Sign MOU to Support Early-Stage Entrepreneurs in Corporate and Government Contracting

Washington, D.C. — The Association for Enterprise Opportunity (AEO) is proud to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC) on October 23, 2024. This partnership will provide early-stage, underserved entrepreneurs with the necessary training and resources to participate in corporate and government contracting opportunities.

The collaboration between AEO and NMSDC will focus on research, program development, and training initiatives to create pathways for small businesses to access procurement opportunities and develop their capacity to become sustainable suppliers in both corporate and public sectors.

Natalie Madeira Cofield, President & CEO of AEO, expressed her enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, “At AEO, we recognize that early-stage procurement opportunities are pivotal for the growth and sustainability of small businesses. This partnership with NMSDC allows us to provide the essential training and resources these entrepreneurs need to navigate and succeed in the corporate and government contracting space. Together, we are building a foundation for a more inclusive and accessible business environment.”

Ying McGuire, CEO & President of NMSDC, echoed the importance of this collaboration:  “As we build on a half-century of progress in minority business development, it is essential that we harness the strength and reach of organizations like AEO, who share our vision for a more inclusive U.S. and global economy. “Together, we will empower minority businesses to grow, create generational wealth, and drive prosperity for all.”

Through this partnership, AEO and NMSDC aim to empower early-stage entrepreneurs by creating targeted support systems that foster business growth and facilitate successful entry into corporate supply chains. The organizations will jointly develop research initiatives and training programs that address the unique challenges faced by underserved small businesses, enabling them to scale and thrive in competitive markets.
