Washington, D.C., November 13, 2024 – In honor of National Veteran Small Business Week, the Association for Enterprise Opportunity (AEO) and the Veteran Women’s Enterprise Center (VWEC) proudly announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) aimed at advancing the success of entrepreneur women associated with the military across the country. This MOU will foster collaboration to create new opportunities, resources, and support systems for women veteran entrepreneurs, who play a vital role in driving innovation and economic growth in their communities.

Through this partnership, AEO and VWEC will work together to address the unique challenges entrepreneur women associated with the military face, advocating for their success and providing access to VWEC tailored programs to empower them. Together, the organizations will create impactful events, beginning with a panel at AEO’s Regional Councils Convening at the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas in April 2025. This discussion will center on the impact of entrepreneur women associated with the military and highlight the ongoing work to create an equitable landscape for these entrepreneurs.

Natalie Madeira Cofield, President and CEO of AEO, shared her excitement for the partnership: “AEO is proud to join forces with VWEC to elevate the voices of entrepreneurial women with military ties. These remarkable trailblazers are vital to our economy, and through our partnership with VWEC, we reaffirm AEO’s commitment to ensuring they gain the resources, visibility, and recognition they rightfully deserve.”

VR Small, President and CEO of VWEC, shared her enthusiasm: “VWEC is proud to partner with AEO to shine a spotlight on entrepreneurial women connected to the military. Together, we are building a more inclusive and resilient ecosystem for these extraordinary leaders. This MOU reflects our shared mission, and through this alliance, we will empower and uplift the women who have served and sacrificed for our country, ensuring they receive the visibility and support they so greatly deserve.”

National Veteran Small Business Week is a fitting time to elevate the contributions of entrepreneur women associated with the military and reinforce our collective dedication to their success. The signing of this MOU represents a step forward in supporting entrepreneurship for women associated with the military, creating pathways to economic empowerment and establishing a legacy of support that aligns with both organizations’ goals.
