Celebrating Leadership: AEO Thanks Former Board Members as It Gears Up for Continued Growth

Former Board Members Honored for Their Contributions as AEO Announces Plans for a Dynamic New Chapter 

Washington, DC – January 17, 2025 – The Association for Enterprise Opportunity (AEO) extends its heartfelt gratitude to four esteemed members of its Board of Directors, whose terms concluded on December 13, 2024. During the final board meeting of the year, the board and leadership team came together to celebrate their remarkable contributions and lasting impact on the organization. 

The outgoing board members include: 

  • Gary Cunningham, Former President & CEO, ProsperityNow 
  • Joshua Brackett, Chief Financial Officer, Ascendus 
  • Usman Ahmed, Head of Global Public Policy, PayPal 
  • Tara Campbell, Vice President CRA, Fifth Third Bank 

Over their tenures, these board members have played pivotal roles in advancing AEO’s mission by driving new research initiatives, expanding regional councils, and enhancing key partnerships. Their vision and leadership have been instrumental in shaping AEO’s efforts to empower rural and urban entrepreneurs across the country.

Ines Polonius, Chair of the AEO Board of Directors, echoed this sentiment, saying, “The countless hours invested on key committees by Gary, Joshua, Usman, and Tara in addition to their roles in raising funds for the organizationleadership and commitment of Gary, Joshua, Usman, and Tara have been vital to AEO’s ability tomission of supporting entrepreneurs in rural and urban communities. Their legacy will inspire the next generation of board members as we move forward with bold plans to expand our impact and drive economic opportunity across the nation.”
