Position Description: Graduate Research Fellow (Research Department)

Overview:
The Association for Enterprise Opportunity (AEO) is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Graduate Research Fellow to join our Research Department. The Fellow will support ongoing initiatives related to AEO’s Data to Dialogue Series and Equity and Opportunity for All Series, which aims to produce compelling research and engage diverse stakeholders in virtual and in-person conversations surrounding AEO’s recently completed research projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate-level student to gain hands-on experience in research dissemination, stakeholder engagement, and the facilitation of thought leadership discussions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research Support: Assist the Senior Research Associate in reviewing, analyzing, and synthesizing recent AEO research projects to prepare for the Data to Dialogue Series.
- Content Development: Develop summaries, presentations, and talking points based on completed research to support discussions and stakeholder engagements.
- Event Coordination: Collaborate with AEO staff to plan, organize, and execute virtual and in-person conversations related to AEO’s research, ensuring a smooth flow of information and timely delivery of materials.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Assist in outreach to partners, policymakers, small business owners, and other key stakeholders to encourage participation in the Data to Dialogue Series.
- Communications: Draft communication materials, including newsletters, event invitations, and follow-up reports, to inform stakeholders of upcoming events and outcomes of the dialogues.
- Data Management: Organize and maintain data sets and research documents that are relevant to the dialogue series, ensuring data integrity and accessibility for the research team.
- Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to the Research Department as needed, including scheduling meetings, coordinating logistics for events, and handling other day-to-day tasks.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a graduate program in public policy, economics, sociology, business, or a related field.
- Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into accessible formats.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to produce concise, clear, and engaging content.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with event coordination or stakeholder engagement is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and virtual event platforms (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams).
- Interest in entrepreneurship, small business development, or economic equity is highly desirable.
Duration and Compensation:
- This is a part-time, paid fellowship providing $3,5002,000 stipend per semester month with flexible working hours designed to accommodate academic schedules. Requirement of no less than 20 hours per week.
- The fellowship will run for six to nine months, with the possibility of extension based on performance and program needs.
