Small Business Administration Plans to Expand Key Lending Program 

Vice President Kamala Harris and SBA administrator Isabel Guzman announced plans to expand the Community Advantage Pilot loan program. The program, that provides business owners in underserved communities with access to financial capital, will now be extended into September 2024. 



New Senate Covid-19 Bill Will Cut Earlier Small Business Relief Aid 

The new bipartisan Senate deal to provide $10 billion for more Covid-19 vaccines and testing will come at a cost. Specifically, two earlier small business relief programs, the Shuttered Venues Operators Grant program and the Economic Injury Disaster Loan program, will be repurposed. 



Proposed JOBS Act 4.0 Aims to Help Small Businesses and Retail Investors 

A group of Senate Republicans unveiled a new plan to accelerate new business ventures, allow young ventures to trade on public markets, and tailor regulations for smaller companies. The proposed legislation comes on the 10th anniversary of the initial JOBS Act (Jump-start Our Business Startups).

Sacramento County Offering $2,500 Grants to Local Microbusinesses and Freelancers 

Sacramento County in California will offer one-time $2,500 grants to qualified local microbusinesses and entrepreneurs. The grants aim to help those businesses still impacted by the pandemic. The deadline to apply is April 29.
