Day 1: Tax Reform
Today, the House Ways & Means Committee will begin debate of H.R. 1, the “Tax Cuts and Job Act.” Committee Chair Kevin Brady (R-TX) expects the mark-up to last until Thursday, and go well into the evening hours each day. The four-day mark-up will conclude with a Committee vote to approve the legislation, setting up a vote by the full House membership. House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) expects to hold the vote before the Thanksgiving holiday.
