Association for Enterprise Opportunity (AEO) Hosts NCRC Fellow in Partnership for Equitable Development
Washington, D.C., September 18, 2025 — The Association for Enterprise Opportunity (AEO) is proud to announce that it will host Linda Appeynarh, Ph.D. student in Public Policy at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC), as its 2025 Fellow through the National Community Reinvestment Coalition’s (NCRC) Fellowship for Equitable Development.
This fellowship reflects AEO’s commitment to advancing inclusive economic growth and expanding opportunities for entrepreneurs from historically underserved communities. Fellows gain a transformative, nine-month experience designed to strengthen their ability to promote equitable development through research, policy, and practice.
At UMBC, Appeynarh specializes in economics within the School of Public Policy. Her research spans technological change, cybersecurity policy, energy equity, human capital development, and inequality, with a broader focus on how policy innovation can promote economic equity and community development. She currently serves as a Graduate Research and Teaching Assistant with the InnoTech Policy Lab, contributing to election cybersecurity and voter participation research while supporting statistics instruction. In addition, she holds leadership roles as Secretary of the Graduate Student Association, where she leads strategic planning and organizational initiatives.
“We are delighted to welcome Linda Appeynarh as AEO’s 2025 NCRC Fellow,” said Natalie Madeira Cofield, President and CEO of AEO. “Her expertise in the intersection of economics, technology, and equity will enrich our efforts to drive research and policy solutions that expand opportunities for underserved entrepreneurs nationwide.”
As a fellow, Appeynarh will collaborate with AEO’s leadership and research team to advance initiatives focused on small business development, equitable access to capital, and inclusive policy innovation. Her contributions will support AEO’s mission to empower microbusinesses and strengthen communities through evidence-based solutions.
Through this partnership, AEO and NCRC continue to cultivate the next generation of leaders dedicated to building stronger, more inclusive local economies.
