Celebrating Women’s History Month: A Call to Support Women Entrepreneurs

As we celebrate Women’s History Month, we honor the remarkable achievements of women entrepreneurs who continue to break barriers, drive economic growth, and strengthen communities. Women-owned businesses are a powerful force in our economy—yet they still face significant challenges in accessing capital, networks, and resources.

Today, women-owned businesses account for 42% of all U.S. businesses, employing 9.4 million workers and generating nearly $2 trillion in revenue. Over the past five years, women of color have been the fastest-growing segment of entrepreneurs, starting businesses at nearly 4.5 times the rate of the overall population. However, despite these strides, women entrepreneurs receive less than 2% of venture capital funding and continue to face systemic barriers in scaling their businesses.

At AEO, we are committed to ensuring that women entrepreneurs across the nation have access to the resources, technical assistance, and capital they need to thrive. Through our work, we aim to remove the obstacles that women business owners face and champion policies that create equitable opportunities for all.

This Women’s History Month, we reaffirm our commitment to advancing the success of women entrepreneurs. We invite you to join us in supporting, mentoring, and investing in women-owned businesses as we work toward a more inclusive and equitable economy.

Together, let’s celebrate the resilience, innovation, and impact of women entrepreneurs—this month and every month.
