Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey (D) has unveiled a collaborative effort between two state offices aimed at reactivating statewide contracts, thereby increasing opportunities for a variety of small and diverse businesses. Under the leadership of Nicole Obi, who chairs the state’s inaugural Supplier Diversity Office Diverse and Small Business Advisory Board, the initiative will specifically target sectors such as information technology, energy, climate action, and various industries. The reopening of contracts is scheduled for later in 2024 with the objective of enhancing vendor diversity.

Georgia Governor Brian Kemp (R) has presented budget proposals for 2024 that signal a substantial surplus, directing over $2 billion in funding towards capital projects in key areas such as education, public safety, tax relief, and infrastructure. Governor Kemp’s mid-year budget of $37.5 billion prioritizes investments in transportation enhancements, technology advancements, water and sewer initiatives, and the establishment of new educational facilities.
