The Budget – Wait and See: The Senate is set to take up a bipartisan spending agreement this morning that would raises existing budget caps on defense and non-defense spending and suspend the debt ceiling until March 2019. It also extends funding for the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), Community Health Centers, and supplemental disaster aid. The agreement is being considered as an amendment to the continuing resolution (CR) passed by the House on Tuesday. The measure looks likely to pass in the Senate. The outlook for passage in the House is less optimistic.
