The House leaves today for August recess. The Senate will remain in session next week.

OMB Received Pass-through Deduction Regulations: Proposed regulations to implement the pass-through deduction provision created by the new tax law are at the Office of Management and Budget’s Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs. The regulations are deemed “economically significant,” which means they qualify for expedited 10-day review. No language has been released. You may view the regulation notice here.

Labor Department Shakeup: Ondray T. Harris, the director of the Labor Department’s Office of Federal Contractor Compliance Programs, is stepping down at the end of this week, after assuming the position in April.
