Marathon Mark-up: Day 2
Today, the House Ways & Means Committee will continue the mark-up of H.R. 1, the “Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.” Yesterday, John Barthold, Chief of Staff for the Joint Committee on Taxation (JCT), provided witness testimony and answered member questions about JCT’s score of the bill, and the possible effects should it become law.
Today, the Committee will begin reading through the entire 426-page bill and offer amendments for consideration. The mark-up is expected to go well into the evening hours.
Legislation
S. 2048, the “Investing in American Workers Act,” introduced by Senator Mark Warner (D-VA). This bill amends the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, to provide a tax credit for employer-provided worker training.
