The bill would make the Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA)  permanent and expand the reach of the agency by creating regional MBDA offices, strengthening its grant making capacity, and increasing its coordination with other federal agencies.

New Visa Program Offers $10,000 Grants To Black Women Entrepreneurs

The grant program, via IFundWomen, has the goal of helping close the funding gap for the black women entrepreneurs who receive it. Grant recipients will receive mentoring by private coaches, educational resources, connection with a network of female business owners, and an annual membership in IFundWomen. The application process will close July 31, 2020.

Venmo Pilots Business Payments For Small Businesses

Venmo will introduce a new feature for businesses to accept payments separate from the individual owner’s account. More than 75 percent of the small businesses in the U.S. are sole proprietors and Venmo wants to aid them in the times when the pandemic has shut down many businesses.
