The House passed a $55 billion aid package for restaurants and other industries impacted by the pandemic. The legislation would provide $42 billion to replenish the existing Restaurant Revitalization Fund and another $13 billion in aid for small businesses that suffered 40% revenue loss in other industries with grants capped at $1 million each. It’s unclear if the bill will pass the evenly divided Senate. With Congress adjourned for a two-week recess, the bill won’t be considered in the Senate for some time.
