Congress is back in session after a two-week recess and members have a long to-do list. Lawmakers have proposed a $10 billion package for additional pandemic relief and a nearly $800 million Ukraine aid funding package. They will also try again to pass some version of the “Build Back Better” bill, and negotiate a final U.S. Competition and Innovation Act (USICA) after back and forth discussion for over a year. Members will have their work cut out to get everything done before the upcoming Memorial Day recess. Also, with election season heating up with the May primaries, these next few weeks may be members’ best chance to pass any additional legislation this year.
