Yesterday, There was a markup on the Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) to codify the program at the Department of Commerce. This amendment is based on the bipartisan Minority Business Development Act of 2021 and will assist Minority-owned Business Enterprises through infrastructure improvements. Additionally, The U.S. Department of Commerce announced they will be accepting applications for the Connecting Minority Communities Pilot Program. This program will allocate $268 million for expanding broadband access and connectivity to eligible Historically Black Colleges or Universities, Tribal Colleges or Universities, and minority-serving institutions.
