On Thursday, the House Education and the Workforce (E&W) Committee unveiled H.R. 6655, known as the A Stronger Workforce for America Act (ASWAA), aimed at reauthorizing the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). ASWAA, introduced in a bipartisan fashion by E&W Chairwoman Virginia Foxx (R-NC) and Ranking Member Bobby Scott (D-VA), seeks to enhance the potential talent pools for employers by providing skills development opportunities for individuals facing barriers to employment, addressing widespread talent shortages across the nation. The markup for ASWAA was scheduled for Tuesday, December 12, with expectations for its progression out of the Committee.
