The Small Business Administration has issued a direct final rule that will allow governors to petition the SBA’s Administrator to designate HUBZone status to certain rural areas.
Tomorrow, the House Committee on Financial Services will hold a hearing titled “An Examination of Regulators’ Efforts to Preserve and Promote Minority Depository Institutions” and the House Committee on Education and labor will hold a hearing titled, “Examining the Policies and Priorities of the Labor Department’s Apprenticeship Program” in which John Pallasch, Assistant Secretary of Labor for Employment and Training, will testify.
Also happening tomorrow, the House Judiciary Committee will hold a vote on legislation to federally legalize marijuana. The Marijuana Opportunity Reinvestment and Expungement (MORE) Act would also expunge convictions and set aside money to help communities impacted by the war on drugs.
