The U.S. Senate recently unanimously passed six bills that create measures that improve the capacity of the Small Business Administration (SBA) and supporting small businesses.

The bills include The Disaster Assistance for Rural Communities Act which would modify the SBA’s threshold on when it can issue a disaster declaration for rural communities. Two bills, The Small Business Cyber Training Act and The SBA Cyber Awareness Act will focus on funding more cybersecurity training resources for small businesses and improving the SBA’s own cyber readiness and procedures. Finally, The SBIC Advisory Committee Act will establish an advisory committee to develop recommendations for increasing demographic and geographic diversity in the SBA’s Small Business Investment Program.
